let's not miss the real point, folks

obviously, the videos that dr. funkenstein and your friendly neighborhood happyfunboy made about the sbs/smb community were a hit both at the amsterdam conference and here at the funcave...judging from the off-the-scale traffic numbers the funmeter keeps recording.

but...

despite the fun we both had in making them...

the reason we made these vids was a fairly serious one.

ya see, unlike the good ol' us of a...

or a far better example, australia...who has been kicking all our butts at this for quite a while...

europe is still uncharted territory for the whole big community thing.

by and large, folks over there don't yet get it...and are still very nervous about sharing info and ideas with their "competition."

not to say we don't still battle that mentality a bit here.

but even the uk groups, which have gone from 2 groups to 14 in less than a year, are still prolly best thought of as in their infancy.

ireland's groups are getting some serious traction...which is more great news.

and...thanks to the influence of the conference in amsterdam...

the netherlands
will be kicking off its very first group on monday!

folks...
listen up now...

all that is big huge super awesome news!

and...all of this should be appearing everywhere in the community!

unfortunately, no one else seems to be talking about any of this much over here...

or...

over there either.

based on my own experience...i will say to those group leaders in europe...

if you are expecting someone over here to magically stand up and care...

don't bother.

just like building your own business...

there is no one who will care about anything you are doing as much as you.

so....

if no one's talking about this news...why aren't you?

you should be screaming from the rooftops:

look what we've been able to do so far!

don't be so fracking shy or nervous or whatever.

here's a bit of news i would start with...if it were me...

one of the uk groups is currently working to arrange up to 1/2 million british pounds in funding from a local goverment business dev board to help raise awareness of smb, the groups, etc.

that's right kiddos...i said million!

but...you know what?

your friendly neighborhood happyfunboy is just one teeny-tiny voice, without any significant reach or influence.

and...thanks to my swiss-cheese brain...
yours truly prolly got the details on that 1.2 million pound deal a bit wrong.

so...to the leaders of the community as a whole...
and to the leaders of the uk groups...
and the other groups in europe...
let me be very very blunt about this...

it is way past time for this type of news to be put out there...
and i'd like to know exactly what you're waiting on...

do i sound like a fire-and-brimstone preacher on the street corner?

good...

be glad it's that...

and not me grabbing hold of the biggest bat i can find to whack some sense into some folks...tony soprano-style.
